Our Story
A Legacy Woven in Gold & Silk
Our ancestors have been successful in leaving behind their mark in the form of art that we create. The family descended from Lahore, moved to Amritsar, and after trying their luck in the weaving of Pashmina shawls, finally settled in Varanasi in 1907.
Here, they established the regal business of Banarasi sarees under the name Hartirathram Dayaram — and we are the fifth generation carrying this legacy forward. What began as one family's deep bond with the weavers of Varanasi has endured for over a century, becoming one of the city's most respected textile houses.
We are not traders. We are creators and designers — working side by side with the hands that bring silk and gold to life on the loom.
Today, H.D. works directly with over 100 weaver families across Varanasi. For more than 70 years, the family has supported the education of weavers' children — a quiet commitment that has never been about publicity, but about principle.
The same values that guided the first generation guide the fifth: honour the craft, respect the craftsman, and never compromise on what leaves our hands.
